You are warmly invited to virtually attend the Equal Pay Act 50th Anniversary event on Thursday, 20 October 2022, 5.30 – 6.30pm.

To support the progress towards fairer and more equitable workplaces in Aotearoa New Zealand, the Equal Pay Act commemorations are being co-ordinated by the Public Service Commission, Ministry for Women, Ministry for Culture and Heritage, National Library, Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment, and New Zealand Council of Trade Unions.

Join us to reflect on 50 years of the Equal Pay Act 1972, and explore what a future may look like where all people are paid fairly for the work they do.

During the event you will hear from Minister for Women, Hon Jan Tinetti, Gráinne Moss, Chief Executive & System Lead Pay Equity, Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission and Dr Cybèle Locke, Senior Lecturer in History at Victoria University of Wellington.

There will also be a panel discussion with Martha Coleman, Deputy Chairperson of the Human Rights Review Tribunal, and panel convenor on the Parole Board, Ally Kemplen, NZEI Te Rui Roa executive member, teacher aide and pay equity negotiator, and Alex Chadwick, Deputy Commissioner, Workforce, Employment Relations and Equity, Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission.
